The ECE is dedicated to providing a child-centered environment where children learn with joy. The department focuses on each child as an individual who is accepted and valued, while encouraging the child’s development in small and large groups. The ECE Curriculum is a developmental program based on a sequence of skills. It is concerned with the development of the whole child, emphasizing spiritual, social, intellectual, emotional, and physical growth. Learning takes place through a hands-on, multi-sensory approach at each level.

OBJECTIVES OF THE ECE CURRICULUM

EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION

Nursery

The nursery program highlights the development of the child’s holistic skills using varied child-centered experiences like playing games, singing, dancing, and art activities that will help them explore, communicate and create—all in a nurturing, small-class setting. The curriculum includes Reading Readiness, Language Arts, Number Readiness, Writing and Christian Living as the core. It also features well-planned daily activities that will engage the pupils in reading stories, discussion, manipulating materials and physical fitness that promotes a lifelong love for learning.

Junior Kindergarten

The Junior Kindergarten pupils are being prepared to widen their knowledge on basic skills, practical life and problem solving. This is accomplished through a Developmentally Appropriate Practices that recommends the use of varied strategies that address the needs and interests of the learners. It also features well-balanced activities that create an environment suitable to meet the children’s physical, socio-emotional, social, and spiritual needs. Language Arts, Reading Readiness, Number Readiness, and Filipino are being introduced to prepare them to face the challenges of the real world. Christian Living is the core of the curriculum as the children are trained to be responsible Christians.

Senior Kindergarten

The Senior Kindergarten program is broad enough in scope to prepare the pupils for a successful entry in the primary level. The program for the child is carefully aligned with the Universal Kindergarten Curriculum. It features themed units that encourage the child’s curiosity, increase confidence and support self-directed activities.
